Yve Print Co. (pronounced ‘Eve’) are making art more meaningful by combining new technology with traditional printing excellence. Using generative code they make beautiful, unique artwork and stationery based on data from their customers most cherished memories and experiences – a first dance; a new born’s heartbeat; the city where you first met. Each design is then made in Bristol by a small team of passionate printmakers.
The popularity of their unique brand of personalised prints and stationery meant they quickly outgrew their Not On The High Street home and it was time for a complete overhaul of their branding and a new eCommerce website with the option to customise products.
We came up with a strategy based around the concept of curators of beauty and an organising thought of ‘Curators of beauty through uniqueness’.
What better way to communicate what they do than to create a logotype with infinite variations? Using a font that is laden with alternative letters, we gave Yve a recognisable logotype with hundreds of small variations in character to embody the tech-driven personalisation which is at the core of their offering.
Then we topped it off with the perfect tagline – ‘Made For You’.
Ultimately we knew that Yve’s brand should play second-fiddle and never overwhelm or clash with the artwork, so we established a subtle approach to numbering and marking prints using embossing techniques.
Built using WordPress and WooCommerce, the Yve website had to be just as bespoke as their products – each one catering to an array of customisations and media inputs. We also randomised the website header to use a fresh variation of the logo on each page load. A subtle touch, but a pleasing one for those who notice.
