It was with great sadness that we awoke to the news that London-based creative design agency Airside will be closing it’s doors after 14 years of success.
From March 2012, Airside London will be no more as the team depart to pursue their own personal ambitions.
Co-founded by partners Alex Maclean, Nat Hunter and Fred Deakin in 1998 Airside has been responsible for some huge campaigns over the years and their client list includes the likes of Nokia, Virgin, Fiat, BBC, Sony and Orange to name but a few. Working across the disciplines of graphic design, illustration, digital and moving image they have in their own words helped to influence a “generation of creative practitioners”.
Earlier today Alex, Nat and Fred released a statement through their site which included the following message:
“Voluntarily choosing to end Airside has been one of the toughest decisions we’ve ever made but it also feels completely right. We’ve loved every minute of working together and feel like we created a truly unique company that completely fulfilled all the dreams that we had back in 1998:
maybe that’s why it feels OK to end it now.”
“When we see the inspiration and positive impact we believe we’ve had on the creative world we are very proud”
A small creative agency ourselves, Airside has been an inspiration to us at Fiasco Design and we can only hope that in 14 years we can look back on our successes with the same fondness and pride. We wish everyone at Airside all the best for the future and look forward to what comes next.
