2023 Wrapped Up
As we start to wind down for the holidays, we’re taking a look back at all we’ve achieved over the past year. Like many of you, we’ve felt the turbulence of world events. Despite this, we’ve knuckled down, produced some of our best work to date, and, we’ve had plenty of fun along the way, too.
We’ve manifested mini moments of joy to reframe corporate volunteering for OnHand. Challenged the preconception of plant-based foods for Eat Curious. Made the world of theatre more inclusive for the next generation for The Old Vic. Harnessed boundless ambition for a media company. Put people first to take incident response from chaotic to confident, for Blameless. Created an immersive portfolio site for Noah Rabinowitz. Helped businesses of all shapes and sizes to understand and reduce their carbon emissions, with Pledge... And heaps more.
Going Above and Beyond
Excellent work brings excellent results. This year we’ve helped brands to – take their products to market; win funding; attract new customers; increase revenue growth, and simply fall in love with their brand.
Our project partners are a happy bunch. But don’t just take our word for it…
“I couldn’t have asked for a more talented, collaborative, and hard working partner for my digital project.”Noah Rabinowitz Creative Director, Apple
“We’ve now got a super positive brand that reflects our vision – and is really compelling for both employees and employers.”Sanjay Lobo CEO, OnHand
“Fiasco were able to take an abstract idea and bring it to life in a way that we would never have been able to realise without their expertise and creativity.”Magid El-bushra Content Producer, The Old Vic
2023 was the year that we came of age. To celebrate our 13th birthday, we took a day off in April and celebrated in a typically rebellious teenage fashion.
In October, we took a day for a full-team Away Day. Keeping things local, we spent the day enjoying a collage workshop, playing darts (badly), eating hand-crafted Japanese food, and listening to live music. Memories that were made special by the fact that we shared them together.
As a team, we’ve continued to grow and develop. We’ve said hello to two new faces: Clare and Tom, and we’ve welcomed four new partners: Chris, Jules, Hayley and Marj. Together, we’re taking on new challenges and treading new ground.
We’ve encouraged equality and diversity with our Open Internship programme, attracting top-tier talent from across the globe. Creative interns Dominic and Kaitlyn joined us in the studio over summer, rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in with live projects.
To further enhance our learning around the topic of equality, diversity and inclusivity, we’ve also taken part in whole-team training.
From early on, we set out to create an environment and culture that encourages and supports creativity. One that is democratic, open and kind.
Over the past few years we’ve put policies in place that ensure we’re operating the business in a way that has a positive impact on our team. This includes flexible working hours, enhanced benefits, a ‘work from anywhere’ policy, and of course – Summer Hours. More recently, we’ve added private healthcare cover for our whole team – part of our commitment to look after everyone’s physical and mental wellbeing.
Awaiting B Corp Certification
In 2022, we set out on a journey to become B Corp certified. The application process is no mean feat, and it required continual dedication and commitment from our internal team of ‘B Champs’. After 12 months of hard work, we’re excited to announce the submission of our application. We’re hoping for to become certified in Q1 of next year.

The Design Community
As part of our commitment to support the wider design community, our team have been involved in mentoring programmes and portfolio reviews. Working with Shillington, Arts University Plymouth, Inkygoodness and UWE, to help emerging talent.
This year we also introduced our ‘Lunch & Learn’ sessions. A chance to explore something different day-to-day, somebody from the team – or a friend of the studio – shares insight on a particular topic. Topics so far have ranged from: navigating feedback, lessons in typography with Dalton Maag; dealing with mental health; finding inspiration with Dan Woodger; and the creative process with lettering artist Alec Tear. Big thanks to everyone who has joined us so far.
As 2023 draws to a close, we say bon voyage to a tumultuous year, and look ahead towards a new year and new opportunities. There are exciting plans afoot…
We’re kicking off some incredible projects, including work for a world-renowned film studio and a West End theatre group. We’re hoping to gain B Corp certification, positively changing how we operate. Always striving for better, we also plan to make improvements to our services and processes; ensuring that we’re offering the best possible experience to our project partners.
Before then, we’re looking forward to some time off with friends and family. We’ll relax and take stock before we come back in January with renewed energy, ready to take on the new year and everything it has to offer. Keep in touch with us via the button below.
